A new trend of fusing an evergreen old number along with a relatively new song and coming out with a new album is fast catching up in K’town.

Lakshmi Pradeep, one of the finalists of a singing reality show, has collaborated with a team of youngsters including programmer Anish Mohan and come out with a medley of two songs — evergreen old classic Vedha’s Palingunaal Oru Maaligai and AR Rahman’s July Maadham and the music video is going viral.

“We have taken the core of the original songs and re-arranged the music to suit the tastes of the present generation. The idea behind the cover was to fuse a really old evergreen song along with a relatively new hit number, which would be a pleasing combination and yet maintain the original flavour,” says R. Kumar Narayanan of Saintunes Studio, which has released the cover. A music video has also been made for this song, featuring the same artistes.
