Capital calling for superstar?
Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and director Shankar along with team 2.O, which is a sequel to the Superstar’s earlier blockbuster Enthiran, will be off to Delhi for a 40-day shoot. Part of the shooting of the sci-fi thriller will take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where a football sequence between Rajini and Akshay has been planned. The maverick director has already commenced the shooting at JNS with other actors and junior artistes. Rajinikanth is expected to join the shoot by Monday. A source close to the unit also reveals that the Superstar will require only two weeks to finish his portions following which he will fly back to Chennai.
We all know that Rajinikanth has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award for the year 2016, for his exceptional and distinguished contribution to art and cinema. The award ceremony is normally conducted during March or April every year — we received unconfirmed information that the Central government may conduct the ceremony in two phases — one on March 28 and the other on April 12 this year. Accordingly, Rajini will receive the honor in a glittering function on March 28.
Meanwhile, speculations run high that there’s has been an appointment request from Rajini’s office to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and LK Advani, during his stay in Delhi. The political bigwigs have given instructions to their respective offices, to fix the meetings before Rajini receives his Padma award. However, when we contacted Rajinikanth’s close circle in Chennai, they seemed clueless, despite hearing about the rendezvous too. In any case, needless to say, the outcome will be quite significant!
