Sasikumar plays Rajinikanth's friend in Petta
Actor and filmmaker Sasikumar’s character in Rajinikanth starrer Petta was revealed by its makers recently. He plays Maalik, a close friend of Superstar in his flashback portions. Director Karthik Subbaraj disclosed that after considering a few actors, he came to Sasikumar at the last minute with lot of apprehensions as to whether he would agree. But much to his surprise, Sasi gave his nod instantly.
The Subramanyapuram director had earlier said that being a hardcore fan of Rajinikanth, he would always watch the latter’s films FDFS. “He is very friendly and humble. His energy levels are amazing and it is sort of infectious. We discussed many things on the sets. And sir comes ahead of others for shooting. Even if his scenes are not there, he would never go to his caravan, but prefers to sit in a chair and watch others perform.” Sasi also requested Rajini not to quit films as every director including him dreams to work with him at least once.
Petta features Rajini, Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Simran, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha and Mega Akash among others and slated for Pongal 2019 release. .
