Director Sumanth Radhakrishanan’s debut film Sadhuram 2 won accolades for its unique attempt in Tamil cinema. Adapted from the English film, Saw, the film also caught the attention of director James Wan, who directed the original.
Following the success of Sadhuram 2, Sumanth is all set to team up with renowned writer Jeyamohan for his next film.
Speaking to DC, he says, “Unlike my debut film, this untitled film will be an emotional action thriller with ample commercial elements. The story will track the journey of a gangster and a young girl. The flick will carry a subtle message and will cater to audiences of all age groups.”
On roping in Jeyamohan who is currently working on Shankar’s 2.0, he explains, “Even before Sadhuram 2, I had narrated a script to the writer. But the project didn’t materialise. When I narrated this one, he agreed to be a part of it. We have completed the story but the scripting sessions are yet to begin.”
Sumanth feels that an actor of huge stature is needed to carry the film. “We are yet to finalise the cast of the film, but will be retaining the technical team of Sadhuram 2. If all goes well, the film will go on floors in March 2017. The story is set in Goa and Puducherry,” he concludes.
