Thala Ajith’s AK 57 has been in demand ever since it was launched. The film also marks the teaming up of director Siva for the third time with Ajith, after his earlier blockbusters Veeram and Vedalam. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the movie has two talented heroines, Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in the lead.
Ajith’s films always have a strong antagonist and AK 57 seems to be no different. The makers are yet to confirm the main villain in the international spy thriller. But a close source says that the script requires a suave and stylish hero to essay the baddie — something similar to what Action King Arjun did in Mankatha.
Now, the big buzz, which is making the rounds, is that Bollywood actor, Abhishek Bachchan, has been approached for the role, which might also help the makers in pitching it for Hindi audiences. The added advantage is that Abhishek is already a familiar face with Tamil audiences since he starred in the dubbed version of Mani Ratnam’s Guru and co-owns the Chennaiyin FC ISL team.
However, when we contacted TG Thyagarajan, the producer, he said, “We haven’t finalised anyone as of now. In fact, we have not gone into that part of casting. Everything will be done in a couple of days when things will be announced officially.” Watch this space for more!
