Kaatru Veliyidai goes to Ladakh
Director Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project, Kaatru Veliyidai, starring Karthi, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Shraddha Srinath started shooting in July this year. A majority of the scenes were shot in the locales of Ooty and Chennai. After wrapping up the two schedules, the team is on a break.
The latest development is that the team is planning to kickstart the next schedule at Kashmir. A source close to the team reveals, “Mani sir has planned the next schedule in Ladakh and Kashmir. A realistic stunt sequence will be shot during this schedule.” According to the source, Mani Ratnam, along with stunt choreographer Sham Kaushal, are scouting for locations in Ladakh now.
We had earlier reported that Mani Ratnam has shot 50 per cent of the film and will be completing a majority of the portion in this Kashmir schedule. After nearly two decades, Mani Ratnam is back to Kashmir where his 1998 mega hit film Uyire was shot.
Produced by Madras Talkies, Kaatru Veliyidai has music director AR Rahman, cinematographer Ravi Varman, and editor Sreekar Prasad as part of the technical team.
