Actor Vemal opens up about how he was misled by the makers when he did the adult film Ivanukku Engeyo Machcham Irukku. Talking on the sidelines of the Kalavani 2 thanksgiving meet, he said he was not aware of the title IEMI till the last moment, which had an inner meaning. “And it was a remake of a Telugu film Guntur Talkies and I watched it before signing. It did not have such an approach. Even my family did not watch Ivanukku....I learnt a lesson and I will not act in such films in future.”
Vemal was happy that despite Kalavani 2 facing major issues during its release, the film is running successfully. Apparently, it marks his 25th film in his career. “I am thankful to those who helped during the crisis time and brought Kalavani 2 to screens. It is nine years since Kalavani and the lead character of the film Arikki is one of my favorites. Thanks to director Sargunam sir for giving me a masterpiece like Vaagai Sooda Vaa besides this film. I am ready for Kalavani 3 if we get a good story. My next film Kannrasi is ready for release."
Oviya who joined the meet towards the end said that she gladly gave her nod to Sargunam for Kalavani 2, as the film is close to her heart. Sargunam, Durai Sudhakar, Ilavarasu, Rajmohan, Antony and the entire crew were present on the occasion.
