Veteran actor Mansoor Ali Khan has taken on an adivasi avatar for his upcoming directorial venture Kadamaan Paarai. He will be seen playing Soorappan, a tribal head who is considered the protector of the forest ranges of Ganguavareddy and Kanchamalai because he never allows people to smuggle red sanders and minerals out. The film is about a young couple trapped in the forest and their attempts to escape.
Mansoor is introducing his son Alikhan Tughlaq as the lead actor of the film. He’s also roped in newcomers Anu Raghavi and Jeny Fernandez, and yesteryear star K.R. Vijaya.
Talking about the veteran actress, he says, “Initially, I was wondering if she would accept the role. Despite her stature, she was very down to earth. Her dedication is amazing.”
