Krishna touches landmark 25
Krishna, who is inching towards his landmark 25 films in Tamil, is a happy man, for his latest movie Pandigai has been receiving critical acclaim for the content as well as his spirited performance. “I had beefed up a bit to get that rugged look for the character, Velu. The character never demanded a six-pack as he was forced to become a fighter. When director Feroz narrated the story, I was confident that people would lap it up. His hard work has paid off,” elaborates Krishna.
The actor’s kitty is now full with several projects. “In Vizhithiru, a thriller, I play a taxi driver — the story happens in 12 hours’ time,” Krishna reveals. Yet another movie, with a unique script, is Grahanam. “There are five different plots in the film. On a particular grahanam (eclipse), each of the five characters get affected within two minutes and what happens thereafter forms the rest of the thriller. The different stories do not converge at the climax.”
Among the many heroines he has worked with, Swathi Reddy seems to be his most favourite. “That’s because Swathi is our family friend and our comfort levels are good,” he explains.
The actor also reveals that Prabhu Solomon’s Mynaa came to him first, but he could not take it up, as he was busy with Kazhugu. He signs off saying that plans are on for a sequel for his blockbuster film Yaamirukka Bayame.
