Ace singer Srinivas thanks Kamal Haasan

Independent India’s first terrorist was a Hindu. His name was Nathuram Godse, says Kamal Haasan.

Popular playback singer Srinivas thanked actor and politician Kamal Haasan for his remarks on Godse and welcomed PM Modi’s statement on Sadhvi Pragya, though it arrived late.

Kamal Haasan had kicked up a controversy recently when he commented, that “Independent India’s first terrorist was a Hindu. His name was Nathuram Godse.” This led to another dispute when the BJP’s Bhopal Lok Sabha candidate and Malegaon blast accused, Pragya Singh Thakur lauded Godse as a ‘patriot’. However, hours later, she had later apologised and withdrew her statement saying she respected Gandhi and his work for the country which cannot be forgotten.

In an interview Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was to say that though Sadhvi Pragya had apologised for her statement he would never be able to forgive her for insulting Bapu.

Reacting to this, singer Srinivas took to his social media and posted, “The most welcome statement from the PM in a long time. Only if he had done this for so many incidents in the past, we would have been with him. In a way, we should be thankful to Kamal Haasan for this.”
