Newcomer actress Dhanya, aka Rabiya Banu, filed a police complaint that she has been getting life threatening calls for having acted in nude scenes in the film 18:05:2009, which is based on the real life of Isaipriya, a TV journalist raped and murdered by members of the Sri Lankan army during the final stages of civil war in Sri Lanka. The film hit the screens on Friday.
Speaking to the press, Dhanya, who lives in Vadapalani, said, “Some unknown person called me on cell phone in the middle of the night and threatened to murder me for acting nude in the film. I told them I am an actress and anything about the film only the director or producer should be questioned.”
She also claimed that again on the early morning of May 16 she received another call from a foreign number and again the caller was abusing and threatened her.
