Shweta Menon realised her dream!
Shweta Menon seems to be in high spirits as her latest offering, Inayathalam, is receiving great reviews from the critics. She plays Helen, an investigative officer/ mother in this movie, directed by Shankar-Suresh. The movie boasts an ensemble cast of Ganesh Venkatraman, Sukanya, Erode Mahesh, Delhi Ganesh, Y Gee Mahendra and Badava Gopi.
The actress, last seen in Thunai Mudalvar, in 2015, is enjoying Kollywood again. “I’d love to do more Tamil films; unfortunately, I don’t get any substantial roles. I never had a boundary as an actor and I am open to interesting scripts. Inayathalam is one such script that lured me in and I had an enriching experience shooting for the movie,” she begins.
Shweta calls herself a director’s actress. She elaborates, “Both Shankar and Suresh had done research on the cybercrime scene, and were clear in what they wanted on screen. Enacting the role of an investigative officer was like living my childhood dream! I also play a mother and my character has an emotional touch to the story. It was easy to execute the roles as the directors would always keep us engrossed in the story with their inputs.”
According to the actress, the entire experience was fun and enriching. “It was an honour to work with Sukanya ji, even though I only had a few scenes with her. Also, to share screen space with a seasoned actor like Y Gee Mahendra was the icing on the cake. With Mahesh, it was difficult to act serious because he was always cracking jokes,” she signs off.
