Vishal, who is presently busy with the investigative thriller Thupparivaalan directed by Mysskin, will be reprising Jr. NTR’s role in the Tamil remake of Temper, which was a blockbuster success in Tollywood last year. Earlier, there was a report that suggested that Simbu was vying for the role of corrupt cop essayed by Jr. NTR in the original. When we contacted Vishal’s office, they confirmed that the Avan Ivan star plays the lead protagonist in the Tamil version. Insiders say that Vishal loved the film and felt that he would do justice to the intriguing character.
When we asked his spokesperson if Kajal Aggarwal, who played the heroine in the original , would be roped in for the remake too, he said, “Casting has not been finalised yet. Vishal has other flicks under production, including his projects with Suraj and Mysskin.” The interesting part is that this is not the first time Vishal dons the role of a cop. He has done several films including Sathyam, where he is an upright cop, Vedi with Prabhu Deva and more recently Paayum Puli where he played an undercover cop. If all goes well, the stunt choreographer-turned-filmmaker Anal Arasu will wield the megaphone.
