Lingesh, a mechanical engineer, quit his job and joined the Anupam Kher School of Acting, when Radaan Media launched the certificate course here, owing to his sheer passion for cinema. “I moulded myself well in dance and stunts before venturing onto the big screen. In fact, my modelling and serial stints helped me fetch a role in Sowcarpettai as a baddie,” Lingesh tells us.
The young actor reveals that he apologised profusely to Raai Laxmi, who played the female lead in the horror flick. “A fierce stunt scene required me to pull her hands forcefully and I was so scared to go near her, and hence, I was flubbing each shot! When I finally got it right in the sixth attempt, I was worried that I might have hurt her in the process. But, the thorough professional that she is, Laxmi took it in the right spirit and said, ‘Don’t worry! it was all part of acting’. Only then I felt relieved,” he discloses with a smile.
