Oviya is an adorable person: Masoom Shankar

The bubbly girl reveals that she's had a great time shooting for the film alongside the many new girls in the cast.

Masoom Shankar, who started off as an assistant director in B-town and then turned to acting, making her debut with the Tamil movie Nagesh Thiraiyarangam, has now bagged a meaty role in Anita Udeep alias Alagiya Asura’s 90 ML, which stars Oviya.

The bubbly girl reveals that she’s had a great time shooting for the film alongside the many new girls in the cast. “It was a fun-filled journey. Generally, people have the misconception that when there are so many female actors working together, it gets difficult to manage them. But, everything went smoothly, and all the credit goes to our director Alagiya Asura (Anita Udeep). She was more than a filmmaker on set she was also a friend, a mentor, a sister and sometimes a mother, taking care of all her girls. She called us her 90ml darlings,” Masoom says, laughing.

Talking about the film’s leading lady, Oviya, she says, “She is such an adorable person.” Though it’s not easy working in an unfamiliar language, a determined Masoom has managed to master it and even dub her own dialogues in the film. “Initially, the director said ‘no’ to the idea of me dubbing my own dialogues. But after an audio check, she was very happy with my work. We did the entire dubbing the very next day. It was very encouraging,” she says.

As she signs off, she adds, “My dream role would be that of a warrior-princess, something like Anushka Shetty’s role in Baahubali.”
