Sri Thenandal Films, which bankrolls Vijay-starrer Mersal, is leaving no stone unturned to make the film’s audio launch the biggest film event of this year. The film has three heroines — Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menen romancing Vijay, who essays a triple role.
AR Rahman has composed the music for this flick and close sources reveal that the famed production house has planned to celebrate the launch in a grand manner as the composer completes 25 years in the industry. Medleys of his chartbuster songs will be performed on stage. It is expected that a few actors will be grooving to the numbers of ARR as well. Actors, directors, producers, musicians, singers, and lyricists who have worked with the Mozart of Madras right from his debut Roja have also been invited.
When Hema Rukmani, CEO of Thenandal was contacted, she confirmed that the audio of Mersal would take place on August 20 at Nehru Stadium. But, she was tight-lipped about the details. “We have planned something grand for Mersal and the event will be aired live on a satellite channel,” she added.
Ask her about the tribute to ARR, pat she said, “We have planned something, but I can’t divulge much about it.” Hema also confessed that they have invited many celebrities for the event.
The icing on the cake is that Thalapathy Vijay will be answering queries from the public. VJ Ramya, who will be hosting the event has asked fans to send their questions on Twitter. Selected questions will be answered by Vijay himself.
