A few months ago, Tamil film producers ran into severe problems when QUBE and UFO began charging exorbitant prices for their services. The Tamil Film Producers’ Council then stated that they would come out with their own digital cinema package mastering unit. In keeping with that promise, the TFPC, in collaboration with Microplex, recently launched its own studio.

Speaking at the launch event, R.K. Selvamani, the president of FEFSI, said, “This is a boon for Tamil film producers. I personally request all producers to remain united. This isn’t something that has been done against any group. Apart from top-notch, cutting-edge technology, Microplex will offer a space for film screenings for the censor board as well.”
