Bhoopathy Pandian, known for his comedy capers, has been missing in action for quite sometime now. The filmmaker is now back with a bang, with yet another full-fledged humour movie titled Mannar Vagaiyara, which commenced shooting recently. While Vemal plays the lead protagonist, giving him company is Anandhi of Kayal fame. The actress is apparently trying comedy for the first time. “You will find a new Vemal in this movie. It’s a different kind of role, which I have not donned so far,” says the actor, who doubles as a producer.
While he has been teaming up with comedian Soori in all his recent movies, in Mannar... Robo Shankar has been roped in as his sidekick. Bhoopathy who brought Yogi Babu’s talents to the fore in Pattathu Yaanai has given him a plum role in this film too. Prabhu, Saranya, Nasser and Jayaprakash form the rest of the supporting cast. PG Muthiah cranks the camera and Jacks composes the tracks.
