GV Prakash and Parthiepan at loggerheads
GV Prakash is all set to play a guy hailing from North Madras in Kuppatthu Raja — who is also a kite enthusiast and loves the sport of fighter kites. Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Baba Bhaskar directs the movie. Speaking to DC, GVP says, “It’s fun shooting for Kuppatthu Raja and the set has always been in a jubilant mood. I essay the character of Rocket, who along with the local set of boys, is always seen playing kites. We prepare the special manja (colored gum coated with glass powder) to strengthen the thread of the kites.”
He adds, “I actually spent time by watching people flying kites, the jargons they use and how tactfully they fight with other kites. It was a nice experience on the whole.” Parthiepan plays a key character of a local bigwig. How his character and Rocket are at constant loggerheads forms the crux of the action-comedy genre. While Palak Lalwani is GVP’s romantic pair, Poonam Bajwa will appear in a crucial role. “Poonam’s role is an intriguing one,” Prakash reveals. The musician-turned-actor has also taken the onus of composing the tracks.
Meanwhile, rumours were rife that Shraddha Kapoor was approached to play GVP’s pair in the Tamil remake of Telugu film 100 percent Love. It was also reported that Tamannaah might reprise her role in Tamil. However, a close unit source dismisses it saying that the makers want a fresh girl, who would look much younger to play a college student.
