Subiksha's life after Kadugu's release
Actress Subiksha got a dream debut with legendary director Bharathiraja’s Annakodi. Though the film did not fare well at the box-office, Subiksha continued to act in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. She then rose to prominence with her performance in the recently-released Kadugu, directed by Vijay Milton. Speaking about the reception to her performance, she says, “Life after Kadugu has been so exciting. I have been getting multiple offers from established banners, which I will be signing in a couple of days. I got great complements for my performance and it changed my life altogether.”
Subiksha now has three films lined up — Nethra, Ra Ra Rajasekar and Podhu Nalan Karudhi, at different stages of production. “I play the title role in Nethra, which is helmed by director A Venkatesh. We wrapped up the Canada schedule recently and 10 days of shooting is still pending. The film is about the problems encountered by a girl from Karaikudi, when she goes to Canada. Vinay and Thaman play the male leads in the film,” she explains.
Podhu Nalan Karudhi by director Zion is her next release. About her role, she shares, “I am paired opposite Aadith of Thangamagan fame. I play a bubbly talkative girl from Chennai. The talkie portions are over and there is only one song left to shot.” Being a classical dancer in real-life, Subiksha desires to don a similar role in films, someday.
