Vijay's comments draw flak from BJP
Chennai: Actor Vijay’s comments on Centre’s demonetisation move has drawn flak from the BJP which has asked the actor not to find fault with the Prime Minister and instead join the saffron party to serve people.
BJP state general secretary Vanathi Srinivasan said the scheme of Prime Minister was needed for people and actor Vijay had criticised the move. “Instead of finding fault with the scheme, he should come forward to help the poor. It will be good, if the actor joined the BJP to serve the people”.
Reacting to the comments, CPI senior leader D. Pandian also hit out at Vijay’s statistics of black money holders. The statement stated that 80 per cent of poor people were affected due to illegal activities of 20 per cent of them. He did not know the proper statistics, Pandian said and added less than 10 per cent of the people would have black money with them.
“The Centre knows those who have stocked black money. But, the Union government had taken an action which had led to people’s suffering”. However, fans of Vijay had strongly come out on the social media against the comments made by the BJP leader.
Vijay, in a press meet yesterday had welcomed the move as a good one, but added that the centre should have taken alternate measures before announcing the move. The sufferings of people due to the move is causing sadness.
