Three films back out of Diwali race
We wrote earlier that several big films releasing on Diwali would affect the box-office prospects of each movie. Realising the situation, now three out of five —Vishal’s Kaththi Sandai, GV Prakash’s Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru, and Vijay Antony’s Saithan have backed out of the race. As of now, Dhanush’s Kodi and Karthi’s Kaashmora are confirmed for Diwali.
The big attraction with Kaashmora is that it is a fantasy family entertainer with Karthi playing a dual role. The film has been made at a mammoth budget in a grand manner. The first look of the flick also created a huge buzz. As far as Kodi is concerned, it is a political thriller with the USP being Dhanush essaying a dual role for the first time in his career. Both have got a major number of screens for release.
Talking to DC, Vishal said, “Kaththi Sandai has come out very well. Since the makers want the movie to release in a grand manner, we decided to postpone it by a few weeks.”
The movie starring Tamannaah, Vadivelu and Soori has now zeroed in on a fresh release date. The film, which is directed by Suraj, will be hitting the theatres on November 18.
