Vishal confirmed that he would be making a sequel to his recent release, the investigative thriller Thupparivaalan directed by Mysskin while he was promoting the film in Malaysia. The actor has been garnering good reviews from critics and also the collections are good at the box office. The movie, which is a desi version of Sherlock Holmes, has Prasanna, Andrea, Anu Emmanuel, Vinay and Bhagyaraj in vital characters.
Interacting with press in Malaysia, the TFPC president, in a lighter vein said, “When we started the project, many hesitated to produce the movie. It was because I am slightly psychotic — and so is Mysskin. They were wondering if the final product would turn out properly. Nevertheless, I am happy to the huge response for the film, which I made under my home banner VFF. As far as Thupparivaalan’s success is concerned, all credit goes to Mysskin.”
The actor added that Thupparivaalan 2 would be made with Mysskin helming the affairs once again. Vishal also announced that on behalf of Nadigar Sangam, a huge cultural event would be organised at Malaysia in December or January next year. “We did the ‘Star Cricket’ matches in Chennai which was a hit and planned to do a similar event here. But, we came to know that more than cricket, football seems to be the favorite sport of Malaysians! So, this glitzy event will have all the artistes — even actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will be part of it. All arrangements are being made with the support from Malaysia’s Tourism department and Malik Streams Corporation, to make this event a grand one.”
