Sathya, the stylist who has worked in 28 films including some with biggies like Vijay (Theri and Bhairavaa), Amy Jackson, and Ilayaraja, has become a busy actor after Sasikumar’s Kidaari. A cricketer by profession, Sathya tells us his future plans are as a designer as well as an actor. “I am a trained cricketer and had played combined district level U-17 and U-19 matches. Having been a stylist in films, it also became my interest. However, my dad’s dream is to see me as a cricketer. At this point, all I can do is play in the Celebrity Cricket League! Luckily, I was offered a role in Sasikumar’s Vetrivel and have been part of all his films including Kidaari, and an upcoming untitled movie,” Sathya quips.
At the Theri party, he was dancing to Vijay’s popular songs. “I didn’t know Vijay sir was watching from a distance. He asked if I had the dream of making it big as an actor. ‘I could see the fire in you’, he remarked.” Now with several acting assignments including Adangaathey, and a film with Udhayanidhi, Sathya says he wants to do varied roles. He also styles for Lawrence in Shivalingaa, Simbu for AAA, Vijay Sethupathi for Rekka, and Vijay Antony for Yeman.
