Premgi plays Grandpa and a dog!
Premgi Amaren, who is yet to have a release this year, has Simba, Takkar, and Chennai 600028: Second Innings on his side. The actor opens up to DC about his dual role in the upcoming film Simba, in which he is sharing the screen with Bharath. “I play Bharath’s grandfather and a dog in this film. This movie has a wacky screenplay in which Bharath is shown to be hallucinating. I appear in human form only to Bharath, while others see me as a dog,” he muses.
When quizzed about how he turned into a dog, the Mankatha actor says, “I had to wear a Great Dane mascot costume and it was super difficult during peak summer. “ Currently, Simba is in postproduction and the filmmakers are planning to release it during Diwali.
Recently, movie stills of Chennai 600028: Second Innings were going viral on social media. In the stills, Premgi is seen struggling with four of his kids. “The sequel is just a continuation, so characteristics will be the same. I play a father to four children and my female co-star in the film will come as a surprise,” he adds.
The actor also reveals that there are a few patchwork scenes and a promo song yet to be shot. “We were planning to fix Malaysia as the location for the song, but my co-stars got busy with their projects. So we are looking to bring everyone together for the song and then work out the place,” he concludes.
