Anjali signs yet another woman centric horror film

Anjali seems to be proving the hot favourite for heroine-centric horror movies. After Lissa, a 3D horror ghost movie, the Angadi Theru actress has again been roped in for a similar genre interestingly titled ‘O’.

Talking to DC on the intriguing single letter title, director Praveen Biggod says, “We can use the letter O for any kind of expression and emotion. When you say O in the alphabets, you would hear a new sound. In Arabic, O denotes zero. If you add zero before any number, there’s no value to it. But if you use the same zero after a number, its value is totally different depending upon how many zeroes you add. So, where you are placing it is up to you which is the crux of the story.”

On roping in Anjali, he says, “You would have seen Anjali in bold roles before. This is an attempt to showcase her as a terrorised woman. She essays Punitha, and the bilingual in Tamil and Telugu revolves around her character and three of her friends.”

Being a debutant and having never worked with any big filmmaker, how did you convince Anjali? “ I have done independent films as well as short movies. More than remuneration, she was particular about the script. When I narrated the story, she listened to it patiently and was thoroughly happy.”

The story of the hardcore horror film, which takes place in the space of five days in three different bungalows, is set in Chennai, Kerala and Hyderabad.
