It’s the season of young filmmakers rocking the Tamil cinema scene. After Karthick Naren, Logesh Kanagaraj and Sri Ganesh, here is Prithivi Adhitya, who has hands-on experience as an executive producer in 8 Thottakkal. He is making his foray with a crime thriller titled Rendaavadhu Aattam. He has roped in none other than ace Sarathkumar as the protagonist for his debut.
Talking to DC, Prithivi who has worked as an assistant in films like Thozha and Grahanam says, “Sarathkumar sir essays an investigative officer and it is not the usual cop that you get to see in films.
Even as I was penning the script, I had Sarath sir in my mind for the role as only he can do justice to it. He gladly gave his nod after listening to my narration.”
Replying to how different it would be from Sarath’s previous cop stories, Prithivi claims, “So far, there has been a cinematic approach to such genre, but in RA, it is very realistic, without taking any filmy liberties. I had also researched quite a lot on real life police officers, their body language etc. for the film.”
The title sounds intriguing, we say. “The night show screened in a theatre is referred as ‘Rendaavadhu Aattam’ (or 2nd show). The movie is about a crime that happens inside a city theatre during the night show. The film also has an emotional connect,” he quips.
