The audio launch of the Jiiva, Sibiraj and Hansika starrer Pokkiri Raja, a romantic film directed by Ramprakash Rayappa took place on Valentine’s Day amidst huge crowd in Coimbatore. PT Selvakumar, a longtime associate of Vijay and his dad SA Chandrashekar, who also proudced Puli, were able to bring several artistes from K’town to grace the occasion including Bobby Simha, Nanditha, Vimal, Sathyaraj, SAC with wife Shoba, and Robo Shankar. Jiiva said Pokkiri Raja is a fun-filled entertainer and will justify the title, which is borrowed from a yesteryear Rajini film. Hansika was conspicuous by her absence. At Imman’s live concert, the composer rendered the Atthuvutta track, which is already popular among the public.
Sources said there was chaos and the police had to intervene to restore order. Interestingly, SAC and his wife, who have been married for more than four decades, exchanged garlands on the occasion to celebrate V-Day.
