SRK to collaborate with Atlee in a Hindi film?

SRK had also made a quick visit to Atlee’s office then.

There had been a lot of speculation that Shah Rukh Khan would collaborate with director Atlee and might play a cameo in Vijay’s Bigil. This was triggered earlier this year after SRK and Atlee met and watched an IPL game between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders together in the city. SRK had also made a quick visit to Atlee’s office then.

Sources close to the makers of Bigil had put a full stop to all such rumours, saying there was no such development. But, even as the sports drama Bigil, directed by Atlee and bankrolled by AGS Entertainment, is gearing up for release this Diwali, reports are once again emerging from Mumbai to suggest that King Khan’s project with Atlee is very much on. The long list of K’town directors making their foray into Bollywood may grow with
one more member in Atlee joining it.

The script is said to be an original and the film is not a remake of any of Atlee’s earlier blockbuster movies with Vijay like Theri or Mersal. The source adds that Atlee narrated the first draft of his script, with mass elements associated with a high action commercial entertainer. The Badshah of Bollywood loved it and has given it a go-ahead.

Interestingly, SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment bankrolls the new Hindi film and Atlee has reportedly been offered a whopping
Rs 30 crores as remuneration.

When that materialises, Atlee will rank among the highest paid filmmakers of Indian cinema. The film might go on the floors in December this year.
One may recall Shah Rukh Khan’s wishes for Atlee and Vijay when the
trailer of Bigil was unveiled recently. Tagging the trailer link, SRK had posted , “Wish my friends @Atlee_dir& #ThalapathyVijay & @arrahman all the best for this one. Like a Chake De On steroids!!”
