After his earlier blockbuster with Santhanam, director Manikandan is back with yet another comic caper titled Odi Odi Uzhaikkanum. Amrya Dastur who started her career in Tamil with a Dhanush’s Anegan is back in the industry and she plays Santhanam’s pair. Recently, a song in Ghibran’s composition was shot in the city at the Semmozhi Public Park. Actor Santhanam was also part of the song sequence. Reportedly, a huge crowd had thronged the place and the unit had tough time in controlling them.
Director Manikandan tells DC, “There was a huge crowd and they were trying to get a glimpse of Amrya and Santhanam sir. Actually, it was not a song, but a college setting where Amrya rehearses for culturals along with her friends at the amphitheater. Amrya then suddenly breaks into dance for music that beams from a recorder. Santhanam who passes by, enjoys her graceful dance from a distance.”
“Though the public was making noise, thankfully they were disciplined and were cheering and clapping Amrya’s moves!” he adds.
While Santhanam plays Chandrababu, a cop, Amrya plays Divya, a college student. “OOU is a perfect blend of action, comedy and emotions. Santhanam is an amazing stunt guy. He jumps, rolls and kicks with lot of ease. There’s quite a chunk of action scenes in the film as well,” Manikandan signs off.
