Aattukkaara Alamelu, featuring Sripriya and Sivakumar, which released way back in 1971, had a kid goat playing the central character and was a sleeper hit. After four decades, another movie, Maanasi, in which the story revolves around a goat is to hit the marquee soon! The flick is directed by Nawaz Sulaiman, a former assistant to ace Malayalam filmmakers Kamal and Fazil. Debutant Nareshkumar plays the goatherd protagonist, and Haarisa who has done a few M’town films, has been roped in to play his romantic interest. Talking about his movie, Sulaiman says, “It’s a bond shared by the lead guy Anbu and his kid goat. Anbu is a goatherd who treats his goats like family. All hell breaks loose when one of his pet goats gets lost. Whether he is able to find out the baby goat forms the rest of this emotional entertainer, which has some romance thrown in.”
