Kadugu imparts a great message
National award winning cinematographer/ filmmaker Vijay Milton, who made heads turn with his flick Goli Soda, is back with yet another unique project titled Kadugu.
The film has former filmmaker and actress Devayani’s husband Rajakumaran essaying the central character of a ‘Puli Vesham’ artiste. Bharath plays one of the leads with grey shades and Bharathiraja’s find Subhiksha plays the female lead.
The film’s distribution rights were bought by Suriya through his home banner 2D Entertainment, after the actor watched it and didn’t want the movie to let go from his hands. Speaking at the audio launch of Kadugu, Suriya said, “It is cinema which has given me everything in life. We have been constructing our dream house for the last nine years and finally moved into it with the entire family including my parents and brother Karthi’s family. When I thought of different ways I can give back to cinema, the answer was my banner 2D Entertainment and bringing quality films to theatres. I have always loved character-driven scripts like Nandha and Vaaranam Aayiram and Kadugu by Milton is one such movie. It is an honest attempt by him and I was wondering how Bharath accepted to act in the role!”
Going with the theme of Kadugu, which is ‘Believe in yourself’, the audio was launched by three people who have made a mark in the society with their deeds — famous auto driver Annadurai, Karunaivel-Sornalakshmi, a couple who runs a popular hotel at Erode where they provide 26 different varieties of food without a price tag and senior traffic police officer Kumar, who follows a quirky way of controlling traffic in the city.
