HMK members lodge police complaint against Kamal Haasan for hurting Hindu sentiments

Kamal has been severely critical and outspoken in recent times.

Mumbai: Kamal Haasan, who’s always been known to be liberally outspoken, has landed himself in legal trouble as an aftermath of his recent comments on Hinduism.

Members of the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) filed a complaint against the veteran actor for ‘hurting’ religious sentiments.

Reportedly, Hindu Makkal Katchi’s members filed a complaint against the actor in a Chennai police station on March 15.

While speaking to The News Minute, Rama Ravikumar, State Secretary of the unit, declared Kamal an ‘Anti-Hindu,’ and called his comments extremely hurtful.

"Will he ever speak against the Quran or the Bible like this? When Vishwaroopam was released, Muslims (several groups) had protested against the movie (for allegedly depicting the community in a negative light). He had then said that there is no safety in this state, and that he should go somewhere else and live," he was quoted as saying.

Akila Hindu Mahasabha reportedly has also filed a complaint against the actor.
