Sri Priyanka with her girl-next-door looks, not only bears an uncanny resemblance to the late actress Shoba, but is also a bundle of talent, like her. The dusky actress speaks about her recently release Kodai Mazhai, which is garnering accolades for her performance.
“My role of an assertive rural girl was quite a demanding one. Set against the backdrop of Sankaran Kovil in Thirunelveli, the entire film revolves around my character. Apart from speaking the Tirunelveli dialect for which I took training, the actual challenge was to pull off a full-on emotional role,” she says.
But she’s still waiting for her big break in the industry — “I honestly do not know what’s going wrong and where. I try to ensure each film I sign in different from the other — perhaps, small films go unnoticed despite their good content. But, I am confident that someday, my good work will be recognised.” And is she open to glamour? “I don’t think I am really cut for it. But, I wouldn’t mind giving it a try if the script demands,” she concludes.
