Quintessential mummy?

The vibrant Rethika Srinivas successfully juggles her ads, films and her own company.

Actress Rethika, who was last in Suriya-starrer Masss, now has a promising line-up of projects. The Deiva Thirumagal actress shot to fame for putting up an excellent performance in the critically acclaimed film Vazhakku Enn 18/9. Apart from cinema, she is also busy working in ad films and manages her own company — Ice Breakers.

Speaking to DC, Rethika says, “After Vazhakku En.. I started getting a lot of offers to play similar roles. But, I felt that I would be a misfit, so gave up quite a considerable number of films. Then I got an opportunity to play a mother again in Masss. Now I am confident that I can carry it off well and I am open to playing such roles. In fact, I am playing the mum to one of the two heroines (Regina and Srushti) in Ezhil’s Saravanan Iruka Bayamen. This will be a suspense factor in the film and I still have a song left to be shot.”

Rethika was also roped in for a guest performance in KV Anand’s Kavan. “It is a small role but it is my honour to be called by KV sir. Also, I share a great rapport with Vijay Sethupathi. This is an offer I couldn’t refuse,” she quips as she gears up to act in Jayam Ravi’s Tik Tik Tik.

The actress has also established a branding, marketing and event management company called Ice Breakers. When asked how she manages to juggle acting and her company, she reveals, “I am good at managing my corporate work schedule. However, in movies, I can’t expect the same. I have to go whenever they call! Nowadays technology helps me to manage my corporate work from the shooting spot,” she signs off.
