Veera's maiden attempt at comedy
Actor Veera of Rajathanthiram fame is attempting comedy for the first time in the film Arasiyalla Idhellam Saadharnamappa. Directed by Avinaash Hariharan, a well-known name in the ad film circuit, the film bears a title based on a famous pinch line used by ace comedian Goundamani. Actress Malavika Nair, who made an impressive debut as a blind girl in Cuckoo, plays the female lead.
Talking about the film, Avinaash says, “Veera and I met for the first time during the shooting of a promotional song for Rajathanthiram. That’s where the basic storyline of AIS was conceptualised. It’s an out-and-out comic caper involving a photographer from Pondicherry, a wedding planner from Chennai, a hitman from Mumbai, and a dim-witted politician.”
The actor playing the lead role adds, “I am trying out comedy for the first time. I thank Avinasah for having faith in me.” Apart from Veera, Pasupathi and Robo Shankar play prominent roles in the film.
Arasiyalla Idhellam Saadharnamappa is being produced by Mahesh Govindaraaj of Auraa Cinemas. Madley Blues is composing the music for the film, and Jalandhar Vasan handling the cinematography.
