We recently got our first glimpse of Arvind Swami in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Attired in a red shirt and sporting short hair, the actor introduced as Varadan seemed to be one angry man. His furious countenance, the incision on his cheek and the dark theme perhaps reflect the tone of the film. This unveiling was the first of the four announced by Ratnam.
CCV marks Mani Ratnam and Arvind Swami’s seventh collaboration. Apart from Swami, the film also features Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi and Arun Vijay as the male leads. The female star cast includes Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh and Dayana Erappa.
The technical crew consists of some of the industry’s biggest names including AR Rahman for music, Santhosh Sivan cranking the camera, and Sreekar Prasad handling the editing. Reportedly, a Telugu dubbed version of the film titled Nawab is also scheduled to hit silver screens along with the Tamil version on the last Friday in September.
