Atharvaa's cop act
After churning out two commercial pot-boiler films — Darling and Enaku Innoru Per Iruku, director Sam Anton went into hibernation. Now, the director is all set to helm his third script which will be a full-fledged action-thriller, a genre that he had always wanted to touch upon.
Sam has teamed up with actor Atharvaa in this yet-to-be-titled film which will be produced by Michael Rayappan’s Global Infotainment. Speaking to DC, Sam says, “Atharvaa plays a cop in this thriller. I took six months to finish the script which will have a blend of commercial elements and social messages to the society. The project will commence in August and will be shot across Chennai and Hyderabad.”
When asked why he chose Atharvaa as the lead, he reveals, “When I finished the script, I wanted a young guy who has a toned body. Atharvaa was a perfect choice for it as he is physically fit enough to pull off the role. Yogi Babu plays an important role and the rest of the cast will be finalised by the end of July.”
Calling action-thrillers his favourite genre, the director shares, “My previous projects had comedy as a major part of the movie. I don’t want to fall into the trap that I can make only comedy entertainers. This is the kind of film that I have always wanted to make.”
The technical crew of Sam’s third film includes cinematographer Krishnan, editor Ruben, art director Umesh and stunt director Dilip Subbarayan.
