With Lok Sabha elections round the corner, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to several celebrities from the sports and entertainment industries to create awareness among the public about the need to franchise their votes through social media handle. These celebs included Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone.
In a recent post, he tagged Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Oscar winner AR Rahman and Lata Mangeshkar and wrote, “When @mangeshkarlata Didi, @sachin_rt and @arrahman say something, the nation takes note! I humbly request these remarkable personalities to inspire more citizens to come out and vote in the 2019 elections. A vote is a great way to make the people’s voice heard.
