Bigil trailer inspired by Chak De! India?

Atlee is often criticised for imitating movies of ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam.

Vijay’s much anticipated sports drama Bigil’s trailer was finally out and going viral. As usual, fans have gone gaga about it. Some celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan graciously appreciated director Atlee and Vijay for the trailer. But netizens were in no mood to spare its director.

Atlee is often criticised for imitating movies of ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam. His Raja Rani was a tweaked version of Mani’s Mouna Ragam and Theri was inspired by Chathriyan, produced by Mani. Netizens are now trolling him saying that the trailer is akin to SRK’s sports film Chak De! India.

The trailer of Bigil starts with women’s football team players wishing their coach - actor Vijay. When he receives wishes from a player essayed by actress Indhuja, Vijay repeatedly demands her to shout louder.

If you remember SRK’s 2007 sports film Chak De! India’s trailer, there was a shot where SRK would repeatedly demand that his students repeat their introduction multiple times.
