A major relief for Oru Pakka Kathai team

The reason being, the makers were asked to remove the word intercourse' by the CBFC.

Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Oru Pakka Kathai starring Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash went on floors in 2014, but the movie hasn’t seen the light of the day yet.

The reason being, the makers were asked to remove the word ‘intercourse’ by the CBFC. After battling for seven long months, the film has been finally given a U certificate with minor cuts.

Speaking to DC, Balaji says, “When we were asked to remove the word ‘intercourse’, we had approached the revising committee five months ago. The revising committee had no objection , but they wanted to check with the Mumbai head office. That really tested our patience as it took a long time for them. Finally, they have certified the film and have also retained the word ‘intercourse’.”

When asked about the release, he states, “We are hopeful that it would release in a month or two.”

Balaji has moved on to his next film Seethakathi with Vijay Sethupathi. “We have wrapped up 30 per cent of the movie. The next schedule will commence in October, with which the film will be completed,” he concludes.
