A black-comedy album for D Imman
Umapathy is the latest one to join the list of star kids donning the greasepaint. He is the son of national award-winner Thambi Ramaiah, and is debuting as a hero with the movie Adagapattadhu Mahajanangale which features Telugu actress Reshma Rathore as Umapathy’s romantic pair. Inbashekar directs this black comedy, and he considers Imman as a big asset to film. Andha Pulla Manasu, a single composed by Imman is being released today.
Speaking about the challenges involved while scoring for black comedies, Imman says, “The background score plays an important role in black comedies. The underlining should be correct, otherwise a scene meant to be humorous will turn out to be serious and will loose its sheen.”
The ace composer also says that besides black humour, there’s a subtle romantic angle too in Adagapattadhu... — “Three songs are romantic numbers, and one of them is the introduction song for the hero. Our earlier single, released a few days back, has already been well received and has gone viral,” concludes Imman.
