The big drug racket that was busted last week in Hyderabad, where top celebrities from Tollywood were named, has put even the K’town stars into a fix. Most of the actors and the filmmaker, who were reportedly served notices, also have strong Kollywood connections.
An actor, who is under the radar, is the son of a popular yesteryear Telugu actress and made an impressive debut as a child artiste in an ace filmmaker’s movie — and even won a national award for his performance! Later, he caught attention by playing a lead hero romancing two heroines in a film directed by the son of a noted producer.
Yet another young actor, known in Tamil as well, is under suspicion. He was brought to Tamil by a renowned filmmaker as one of the leads in his movie, which was a blockbuster. He shuttles between Telugu and Tamil and still struggles to make it big.
The Punjabi kudi, whose name was mentioned in the drug racket, was introduced in Tamil opposite a young and budding hero then. The hero’s father, who is a multitasking personality, directed the movie. Another actress in the list is known for her dancing prowess has done several special songs in Tamil.
Though the filmmaker stated in the list has not done any straight Tamil film, his T’town blockbusters have been remade with top guns of Kollywood and were super hits here as well.
However, Kollywood seems to be a little more conservative when it comes to drugs culture and are happy settling for late night parties. But reportedly, a few of them nurture their secret drug consumption act in foreign locales, and not at the home turf!
