Imagine you are a hero who just got ditched by the heroine. You would suddenly jump into a song which is popularly known as the ‘break up song’ and abuse the girl for leaving you. To find an equal ground, director VZ Dhorai has come up with a break up song (in his film Amaalee) for the heroine, where she gets to talk about the hero who ditched her. The film has Samuthirakani, Shyam, Athulya Ravi and Divya playing the lead roles.
Talking about this number, Dhorai says, “The lyrics of the girls break up song was written by me and we will be shooting next week. This concept is new to the Tamil industry and the whole setting will be in black and red shade. Amaalee also has the typical break up song for guys and we shot it using a black and black concept. A set worth '40 lakhs was erected and it was lit up with white light to provide the contrast.”
The song appears in the movie where the heroines will be hosting a breakup party — “Usually, directors use the same tune for hero and heroine with little variations. But, I made it a point to have different songs and background music for both,” he adds.
Amaalee team will resume shooting from July 18. Samuthirakani will be portraying four looks — that of an engineer, police official, North Indian CBI officer and a man in a live-in relationship.
