Sporting Khaki at least once is the dream of every actor in tinsel town. It came then as a surprise when it was revealed that Shanmuga Pandian, son of ace Vijayakanth who has acted only in two films so far, has bagged a high action cop film. Directed by Bhoopalan, a co-director of Siva, the film is set in Kancheepuram and Ronica has been roped in to play Pandian’s pair.
“It is known that Vijayakanth sir is identified for his superhero cop stories. When I wrote this script, I felt with his height and fit look, Shanmuga Pandian would be perfect for my lead protagonist. However, this is not a kind of over-the-board police story. He completes his college in Kancheepuram and gets selected in police force and returns to his own area. It is a fictional account action film with all commercial elements like romance, humour, emotions and sentiment intact.”
The director also asserts that it will be a tribute to the police community.
‘After watching the film, every person would want to become a police like the lead character”.
National award winner Archana will be essaying Pandian’s mother and their emotional quotient is one of the high points of the movie, he adds.
The supporting cast includes Munishkanth as a cop, Vamsi Krisha as the villain, besides Pawan, Sai Dheena, Azhagam Perumal and Pappu. Vijayakanth will reveal the title at a later date.
