Raghava Lawrence’s new initiative for orphaned mothers

A video song Thaai as a tribute to mothers was also launched.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day (May 12), Raghava Lawrence known for his philanthropic ways and who runs an orphanage for kids and physically challenged and helped hundreds of heart surgeries, has started ‘Thaai Foundation’ to take care of mothers who are deserted by their children.

Lawrence, who has built a temple for his mother Kanmani, tells DC that his visit to one of the old age homes where he saw a few desolate mothers who are mentally affected. “The sight was pathetic and troubled me that I decided to start Thaai Foundation. Besides food, shelter and clothing, they will be taken care of at an emotional level. We also insist that people should take care of their mothers and should not dump them in old age homes.”

A video song Thaai as a tribute to mothers was also launched. “I am planning to incorporate this Thaai song in my next film and dance for the same. Rajinikanth and Vijay appreciated my effort.”

Lawrence revealed that his recent horror franchise Kanchana has already joined Rs 100 crore clubs. “Now producers are offering bigger salaries. All credits goes to my amma Kanmani.”
