Composer Sirpy's son debuts as a hero

Venba, who acted as a child artiste in Kattradhu Tamizh is playing the female lead.

At a time when music composers like GV Prakash, Vijay Antony and Aadhi turn actors, here is Sirpy who is launching his son Nandhan Ram in a movie Palli Paruvathile. The film is based on a school subject, which is directed by Vasudev Bhaskar, who produced Arun Vijay’s Veda and directed Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai.

Venba, who acted as a child artiste in Kattradhu Tamizh is playing the female lead. Talking about his new venture, Vasudev, who has returned after a hiatus, tells DC, “The story is based on my real school experiences while I was studying at Iluppai Thoppu Secondary School in Aambalapattu, in Tanjore. It is basically a rom-com with a twist in it. I can’t reveal much about the story now. I was very studious till the 9th grade and because of my passion towards cinema, I performed poorly in my 10th grade. I dreamt of shooting in my school one day and it has come true now!”

KS Ravikumar has been roped in to play Vasu’s teacher, Sarangan, who was responsible for many children turning into doctors, lawyers and people in respectable positions today. Urvashi is also essaying a crucial role. Debutant Vijaynarayanan, a former assistant to maestros Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman composes the tracks.
