A dream start for Nivedhithaa

She is excited for the release of the film, which is all set to grace the screens on September 15.

Stepping into the film industry with a prominent role in a film like director Bramma’s Magalir Mattum can be overwhelming to an actress who aspires to make it big in Kollywood. But, newcomer Nivedhithaa Sathish seems to remain calm and clear about what she wants to make out of films. She is excited for the release of the film, which is all set to grace the screens on September 15.

Speaking to DC, Nivedhithaa says, “I’ve been dancing since my fifth grade and I developed a passion for acting when I was in my teens. However, my parents were determined that I should complete schooling and then pursue my interests. After I finished my 12th grade, I was looking out for opportunities and that’s when I auditioned for Magalir Mattum.”

The actress will be essaying the role of Saranya Ponvannan’s younger version. “We were given rehearsals for a month and I met Jyothika, Saranya Ponvannan, Urvashi and Bhanupriya mam then. We grew close and I was the pet kid! I have no regrets about not going to an acting school. Bramma sir was the best and he taught me all the nuances,” she quips.

Does she have any preferences regarding the role she wants to portray? — “I’d love to play roles of my age. I wouldn’t mind playing a happy-go-lucky-girl on screen, but the character should make sense on some level. Movies like Irudhi Suttru and Dear Zindagi get me excited.”

The actress is currently also acting in a Telugu film titled Hello, directed by Vikram Kumar of 24 fame which has Akhil Akkineni as the hero.
