VC Guhanathan lashes out at Kannada actors
Kadigara Manithargal, which has Kishore in the lead, is a film that talks about the plight of people who relocate from small towns to the city and find it difficult to get a flat on rent. Speaking at the audio launch, V.C. Guhanathan said, “The film deals with people who do not have their own houses. Eelam Tamilians know the pain of not having their own land. Now, Karnataka is refusing to give Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Kannada artistes are joining in protests against giving water.
As far as I am concerned, artistes are neutral and have no language barriers. In fact, the late Kannada Superstar Rajkumar was introduced in a Kannada movie Veda Kannappa by Tamil producer AV Meyyappan sir.”
Bhagyaraj said, “Though actors want to remain silent, they are dragged in by a few outfits. Tamil artistes are in a dilemma, and are forced to give back to Kannada film personalities. Imagine Rajinikanth’s (who came from Karnataka and become Superstar here) embarrassment’”.
Though Kishore is also from Sandalwood, barring politics he spoke about the film and how the director has infused humour and emotions in the film.
