“The film is the story of a loafer, with a carefree attitude. But his life goes through turmoil when society throws a bundle of problems at him. And his redemption is what Kundrathlile…is all about,” Dhaya begins.

For the role of the protagonist, Dhaya wanted someone like Dhanush or Vijay Sethupathi, and it was his mentor Seenu Ramasamy, who suggested that Prajin will be perfect for the role, and the director agrees, “He fit like a glove for the character. Prajin was with the team all through the process and he dedicated all his time for the movie.”

Riyamika, a debutant Tamil actress from Bengaluru, has been paired opposite Prajin. K. Bhagyaraj and Gana Bala are also an essential part of the film, says the director. He also praised Imman Annachi, who, despite his busy schedule, accepted the film without bothering about the remuneration.
